Breaking News: Majority of Ukrainians Unimpressed with Orbán's Peace Mission

Subheading: Hungarian Prime Minister's Proposal Falls Flat with Ukrainian Public

Summary:

Despite Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán's recent calls for a "peace mission" to end the conflict in Ukraine, the majority of Ukrainians remain skeptical of his intentions. A recent survey conducted by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology found that only 15% of Ukrainians believe that Orbán's proposal is sincere, while the vast majority (75%) view it as a publicity stunt or a bid to curry favor with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Orbán, who has maintained close ties with Putin throughout the conflict, has repeatedly called for a ceasefire and negotiations to end the fighting. However, his critics argue that his peace mission proposal is nothing more than a thinly veiled attempt to appease Russia and undermine Ukraine's sovereignty.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has also dismissed Orbán's proposal, stating that Ukraine will not negotiate with Russia until all Russian troops have withdrawn from Ukrainian territory.
