Melbourne Savour Nrl Silverware Before Final Round

Melbourne savour NRL silverware before final round

Smith wants Storm to finish season on a high

Cameron Munster says Melbourne will savour their NRL premiership silverware before turning their attention to next week's final round.

The Storm secured the JJ Giltinan Shield with a 26-18 win over Parramatta at CommBank Stadium on Thursday night.

It was their third minor premiership in a row and their fifth in eight seasons under coach Craig Bellamy.

However, the Storm are not resting on their laurels and are determined to finish the regular season on a high against the Sydney Roosters at AAMI Park next Saturday night.

Munster says Storm will be ready for Roosters

"We're really proud of what we've achieved this year, but we're not done yet," Munster said.

"We want to finish the season on a high and take that form into the finals."

The Storm have won their past 11 matches and are in ominous form heading into the finals.

Smith wants Storm to make a statement

"We want to make a statement in the final round and show everyone that we're ready for the finals," Smith said.

"We know the Roosters are a great team, but we're confident that we can beat them."

The Storm will be without prop Christian Welch for the match against the Roosters after he was suspended for a dangerous tackle on Eels prop Reagan Campbell-Gillard.
